A-MUSE-A-PALOOZA Challenge #2

You know how sometimes you make something and you are super happy with how it turns out? That’s exactly how I felt when I was done with this card. I made it for a fall card  swap I participated in, and it happens to work out that this week’s challenge for AP is Halloween colors!

The card measures 4.25″ wide and 5.5″ tall (1/2 of a letter size piece of paper, folded in half.) Here’s the recipe list:

  • Cardstock: Onyx (card base), pumpkin (sentiment), pebble* (fence), vellum (fence and clouds – Paper Studio)
  • Ink: latte, wasabi* (tree), lemon whip (moon), french roast (sentiment)
  • Stamps: spooky boo day *(tree & moon) essential sentiments (sentiment)
  • Accessories/Tools: cloud duo die, bat trio die*, fence die*, onyx glitter, tombow mono aqua adhesive, 3D foam adhesive, glue dots, glue pen, stamp-a-ma-jig
Techniques:
  • The tree was stamped first in latte ink, then in wasabi right on top of the first image. This gave the color/effect I was looking for. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure that I got them exactly in the same spot.
  • Gluing down vellum on dark paper seems to be an effort in frustration for me. I used the glue pen to attach the clouds to the card. I originally planned on trying to find a different way to do it, but I liked the effect I got. Initially, I also used the glue pen to glue the vellum layer to the pebble layer of the fence and to adhere the fence to the card, but for additional copies of the card I ran it through my Xyron.
  • The Tombow mono aqua liquid glue gave the best results for covering the bats with the glitter.
Here’s a closeup of the bat and fence. I glued the vellum to the fence at a slight offset to try to give it a little dimension/shadow look:
All supplies are a*muse studio unless otherwise indicated (holiday catalog items marked with *) and are available through my webstore.
